Dog & Puppy Classes Now Available at AMAH

Call 981-1244 for schedule & availability

In our ongoing effort to promote and improve the human-animal bond, Alta Mesa Animal Hospital is proud to offer dog and puppy school in our lobby several days weekly. The classes include a puppy and an adult one day seminar as well as 1 month long classes from puppy through advanced dog training.

Well Mannered Pooch was founded by Accredited Trainer Michelle Schilling. Her passion is training dogs to become well mannered members of the household. Michelle has specifically written her training programs to build consistent, desired behaviors like sit, stay, down, come, heal. She also uses these essential desired behaviors to discourage unwanted behaviors like jumping, barking at the door, nipping, even darting out the door and many others. Michelle’s programs work to deepen the bond you share with your pooch by discussing dog’s native language and how you can successfully communicate with your dog on a consistent basis. Consistent, understandable communication between dog and owner is the key shaping any dog into an unforgettable pooch.

Watch our video below for an example of 2 pets helped with one of your loving gifts.

The smaller kitten was found in the desert and the larger was abandoned. Both would have been lost w/out your gift to our Giving Tree. Thank you!

Training Tips

Quick Tip

Talk, touch, and eye contact are all forms of rewards to your dog. Add them to behaviors you want to increase and remove them from behaviors you want to discourage.
