Dog Groomer: Melissa McDowell
Melissa became a pet stylist 18 years ago. Starting her career in Scottsdale, AZ she found an immediate passion caring for and beautifying the pets that are an important part of our lives. 
Melissa came to ALTA MESA ANIMAL HOSPITAL six years ago.
During that time, Melissa has enjoyed customizing and creating grooming styles for every breed of dog. Staying current with the latest styles and accommodating special requests to satisfy every client, has gained her a foundation of loyal customers and a shared bond with the animals that they bring to her. Melissa is married with an 12 year old daughter, and has 2 dogs at home.
During her free time with her family, she enjoys the outdoors, off-road trail riding, hiking , camping and wild life watching.
Cat grooming is also available on a limited basis and is completed by our pet nurses. All cats groomed must have a current exam by one of our doctors. Lion cuts, grooming and bathing are all offered at our hospital.

Cat Specific Exam Room:
Alta Mesa Animal Hospital has remodeled an exam room for the specific use of cats and exotic pets. The room is far away from barking dogs, has a feline diffuser for happy kitty smells, receiving blankets for comfort on exam tables, kitty toys, a kitty friendly hide box and many more happy cat features. Talk, touch, and eye contact are all forms of rewards to your dog. Add them to behaviors you want to increase and remove them from behaviors you want to discourage.
